 Gloria by Madison Bicking

Oh Gloria,

No matter the distance

She always gets through

And I try to resist it

But I come out looking like the fool

The eyes of a devil

With the smile of an angel

We’re bonded, indefinitely

She’s inescapable

And she knows

Just how to get a rouse out of me

She hides behind her mask of lies,

And once again,

I get caught in her web of betrayal

She paints the most convincing disguise

Foolishly, I believe her portrayal

Oh Gloria,

We only have so much time

We run the risk of not fixing this

You’ve already stolen

All of what was mine

If this is the edge,

You’ve pushed me way past it

I’ve never known another way

What else can I do?

I’m alone and afraid

How do you always

Get me to come back to you?

Familiarity is comfortable

Chaos is easy

You do this ‘cause you know you can

My naivete gets the best of me

And you’re never satisfied until

You’re holding my bleeding heart

Between your hands

Oh Gloria,

We’re bonded, indefinitely

You’re inescapable

And only you know

The depth to which

Your wounds cut through me
