leaky faucet
leaky faucet by Margot Kaye
i take a bath to drown the world out
the pitter-patter of the lingering drops from the faucet are the soft beat of my heart
the water grows colder, freezing me into a corpse, cold, lifeless
and as i finally allow the water to solemnly deplete
i circle the drain
iām swallowed down with the remainder of my bath water. and i am gone.
