Tunnel Vision, the Path to Heaven by Noa Fritschie

An inventor works against pouring rain, an upcoming hurricane

Blueprints soaked, textbook pages drenched

They had a breakthrough, now death is all that is left

An artist paints while smoke clouds the sky, sparks fly

Sketchbooks burn to dust, canvas catch aflame

Calm despite the demise heading their way

You once told me that you were a believer, a dreamer

Yet you got lost in sorrow, guilt and pain

Now you either welcome death, or are counting down to the day

A waiting game. I have some words for you today,

There is a time, to accept the inevitable,

That in the grand scheme of things, we are all

Mortals, young souls and unmemorable. Yet

We still are beautiful, unique and special.

So while your place in the universe may not last forever

The small things should always be treasured.

If one only strives to be remembered,

What time was spent for that attempted endeavor?

Don’t dig yourself in, unless you can see

Through the danger that single-focus can be

Take this message to heart, for it is the truth

Tunnel Vision is the

Fastest Way to Heaven
