Hold On Hope, Hold on by Luna Fera

we used to laugh beneath a bleeding sun

teasing each other as we tramped down packed dirt

not worrying about the consequences of a quick embrace

now we stare at each other across cold screens

relying on memories of phantoms for sanity

we used to joke about a billion stars finally bursting out of pure exhaustion

raining ash coming to suffocate us all

now we awkwardly rub our necks as we meet Fate’s smug stare

hehe, you know we didn’t mean it, right?

we used to play hide and seek with clocks

fumbling fingers rushing to brush the fleeting numbers

bombarded with angelic snickers of

Tick

Tick

Tick

now we lay in crinkled sheets

staring at a ceiling of broken time

forlorn hands slammed against temples

heart hammering to dissonant chords of

                                              GET

OUT

        NOW

we used to roam great halls

littered with books and papers

laden with stress and godly percentages

now we try and learn through a glitch

and a crackling voice

trying not to get too distracted by the sweet purr

of a furry friend on your arm

We Used To We Used To We Used To We Used To

we used to roll down hills

and ponder over a thousand and one twinkling lights

and what lies at the end of the spidery web of life

now we hang off balconies

pooling Moonlight obscuring our vision

knuckles going white as we grip the railing

endlessly grasping                Hope.
